At Lark Escapes, we’re much like a theater company, but instead of performing on stage, we bring immersive experiences to life through our carefully chosen talent. In today’s world, influencers play a huge role, and we’re tapping into that to make our events unforgettable.
The casting process for our Winter Fae Ball has been similar to casting for TV, film, or theater. We put out a casting call, sometimes through word of mouth or by using services like apps or Facebook Pages, to find the perfect people to fill these roles. Nowadays, actors often submit self-taped auditions, making it easier for us to review and choose the best fits online.
Our first two hires were discovered on Instagram. We sifted through many interested candidates, but when we found Dakotah (@dakotahsgrotto), we knew she was our Fae Queen. Not only did she have the perfect look with her bright, beautiful eyes and long, flowing hair, but she also had a strong social media following, which was a bonus for us.
We reached out to her, and to our delight, she responded! Our first conversation with Dakotah was about our company’s vision—both creatively and philanthropically. Her voice was as enchanting as her appearance, and we later learned she had experience as a Disney princess! It was clear she was the perfect choice for our Fae Queen.
We’re thrilled to have Dakotah on board for our first major event. As for our Fae King, we’ll be revealing him next week—so stay tuned! We’re also on the lookout for another courtier and will be holding a full casting call in NYC for the remaining two male roles (yes, we’re looking for you bat boys out there).
